‘Whatever I Want’ Poetry Digest

First in a three-part poetry digest series, written and illustrated by Mike Skullbuster.

Prologue
Whatever I want. A fitting title for a collection of poetry,
thoughts and musings from one Mike Roberts. However you
may refer to him, perhaps as Mike Skullbuster, a man born to
rock n roll, or maybe as a ranch hand, a grower, a smuggler,
a painter, a driver, a bodyguard, or even Coach, influencer
and teacher of the youth of America, one constant is that Mike
carves his own path, and has from the beginning. So why not
add poet to the list? As the title implies, Mike has always been
one to do whatever the F—k he wants. The words herein are
a collection of over thirty years’ worth of thoughts on napkins,
notebooks, doodles, lyrics, ramblings, babblings, and anything
else that has crossed Mike’s mind in all those incarnations of
the one known as Mike Skullbuster. Themes of regret and
missed opportunities, doubt, confidence, wacky anecdotes,
and varied observations run throughout, but when you have
been to as many places and lived so many lives you pick up
such things. The context and when and where of much of what
lies before you, only Mike and the notebooks can say for
sure, but the words paint a larger picture of the man.
So, enjoy this first collection of prose from the mind of
Mike Skulbuster. It may be the first time he has assembled
all his inspiration into one place, (not counting the numerous
rock records he has been involved with), but it will not likely
be the last. We will just have to wait and see how many
more lives he will have lived before the next collection...
